Abstract   |   Authors   |   References
The article is devoted to the factors determining life expectancy in the Russian regions. The issues of life expectancy are in the special focus area of socio-humanities and natural sciences (sociology, economics, demography, biology, medicine, etc.). Prolongation of life, as well as preservation of health, is one of the main values that appeared with human society emergence, closely related to its development, social structure, cultural traditions, and history. The article examines global and all-Russian trends in life expectancy indicators, highlights the key factors that determine real statistics. The territorial extent of the Russian Federation, climatological variability and multinational character determine the differentiated development of Russian regions. We have emphasized on the manifestation of factors determining life expectancy in regional development. We have investigated the dependence of life expectancy in Russia’s regions on climatic and territorial features, socio-economic conditions, the prevalence of socially significant diseases, and the development level of domestic medicine. Based on the calculation of correlation coefficients, we have revealed the closeness degree of the relationship between the determining factors and the effective indicator. We have grouped the regions according to the intensity degree of the influence of factors and established the probability of their spread. We have determined the interregional differentiation level and adaptation degree of the population of the regions to the social and natural environment. We have considered the possibilities and directions of development in the medical field as an additional factor that can affect the reduction of premature mortality, especially at a young age. We have formed conclusions and made assumptions about the possibility of using these approaches in regulating the processes of demographic development in the regions
